AUTUMN

By:  N. Rezich

Amazing amber

Unbelievably unique

Tinted treasures

Uncovering unpredictable

Magnificent masterpieces

Nature nonpareil

Winter Blues

WINTER BLUES

By:  Nancy Rezich

Sleepy

Cranky

Easily distracted too

Can’t seem to find

anything interesting to do

Start a book

turn one page

put the book back down

Go downstairs

look at the paint

pick up a brush

put it back

go upstairs again

Wander into the kitchen

to see what’s good in there

Brownies no

Ice cream yes

No wait

maybe a cookie

maybe two

Ok maybe just one more

No it’s not the grandbabies

they have lots to do

It’s just me

beside myself

with the winter blues

The Journey

THE  JOURNEY

By: Nancy Rezich

You’re on a journey

A journey you hope

will take you far away

Far away from your past

He waited for you

Patiently

Never questioning

His love

never faltered

He waited for you

He waited for your return

How could he have known

that when you came back

you would only be

passing through

Remember

He is on a journey too

His journey

is sure to take him

down a different path

I promise you this

One day

you will find

a need

and a desire

to return his way

And when you do

you just may find

that he has

already moved on

Right Or Wrong

RIGHT OR WRONG

By:  Nancy Rezich

You think you are right

and I am wrong

I think you are wrong

and I am right

Perhaps one day

we’ll both be

surprised to find

that we were

both right

and

both wrong

about some of

the same things

at the same time

Maybe then

our healing

will begin

Great Day

Great Day

By:  Nancy Rezich

Sunny

A bright blue sky

Jackets off, short sleeve shirts

People walking, kids on bikes

Great day

Germs

Germs

By: Nancy Rezich

Even though I’m fifty six

my immune system thinks

I’m five or six

I try to hide

from creatures

invisible to the eye

They always seem to find me

and leave their germs behind

They leave a little sniffle

and even a tickle or two

Oh how I wish my system

wasn’t quite so fickle

The Mirage

The Mirage
By: Nancy Rezich

I look up
The sun is shining brightly
Its backdrop
a beautiful light cerulean blue sky
I smile
anxious to go outside
to feel the warmth
that surely must be there
to greet me
Then I look down
The snow has not gone
and quickly I realize
that my mind
was playing a trick on me
It was merely a mirage

I Cried Today

I Cried Today
By: Nancy Rezich

I cried today
I cried so hard I could not speak
But they were not tears of sorrow
They were not tears I shed because of you
I cried because I laughed
I laughed so hard I cried
And it was the best feeling
I’ve had in quite a long time
I think I’ll hang onto it for a while

The Noise In My Head

The Noise In My Head

By:  Nancy Rezich

It’s late into the night

and I am awake

The house is serene

and quiet

except for the noise in my head

Noise created by my thoughts

that I can’t turn off

Everything is still

The only movement is that of shadows

silently running across the wall

Wouldn’t it be nice

if all my thoughts

could be as quiet

as the shadows running across the wall

Who Are You?

Who Are You?
By: Nancy Rezich

Who are you?

I thought I knew you so well

But

like a chameleon

you have become very good

almost masterful

at altering who you are

for those you are with

Becoming unrecognizable

to those who love you

and once knew you best
